A cleaning apparatus for computer pointer devices (9) having a standard ball (15) contacting input rollers (13a, 13b) has an abradant ball (21) mounted to a rotary shaft (25) in a manner that the abradant ball (21) may be brought into contact with rollers (13a, 13b) of the pointer device (9) with the standard ball (15) removed, the position of the abradant ball (21) such that rotating the shaft (25) will rotate the abradant ball (21) in a manner that the abradant ball (21) with both abrade and turn the rollers (13a, 13b).
